Pastor Tommy G. Carpenter, born April 13, 1951, in Burke County, North Carolina, was raised in a God-fearing family and developed a deep love for the Bible at an early age, living a disciplined and faith-centered life. After a profound spiritual calling and surrender to the call to preach, he served faithfully in ministry for decades. Pastor Carpenter served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975, later working for 42 years at Dixie Container (PCA) while continuing his theological studies at Fruitland Bible Institute. He pastored Chambers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for 19 years, held leadership roles within the Mountain and Catawba Baptist Association, and later served as interim and pastor at Third Creek Baptist Church before retiring from pastoral ministry. Following his retirement, he continued his commitment to service by founding the nonprofit 2nd Chance Pathway, Inc. in 2020, dedicated to helping individuals in need of a fresh start. A devoted father and grandfather, Pastor Carpenter’s lifelong purpose remains to glorify Jesus Christ through his living and giving, guided by Ephesians 3:20.
